A team of gamers, writers, and esports fans based in Austin, TX. We play the games we cover, we watch the tournaments we write about, and we test the gear we recommend.

It’s just a name we liked. Short, easy to remember, sounds good when you say it out loud. No hidden meaning, no origin story.

Multiple times per week. Frequency goes up during tournament season and major release windows. We also send a weekly newsletter.

We play them. Not for 45 minutes, not just the tutorial. Our reviewers put in meaningful hours before writing a review. We cover gameplay, technical performance, story (if applicable), and value. Each reviewer owns their score.

We score games on a 1-10 scale, whole numbers only. Here is the rough guide:

• 9-10: Outstanding. A must-play.
• 8: Very good. Strong recommendation with minor issues.
• 7: Good game with notable flaws.
• 6: Decent but hard to recommend over the competition.
• 5: Average. Some things work, some don’t.
• 4 and below: Has serious problems. We’d suggest skipping it.

No. We disclose when a publisher provided a review copy, but it doesn’t change the review. If a game has problems, we say so regardless of who gave us the code.

We don’t have the capacity to cover everything, and not every release is worth a full review. We focus on major titles, notable indie games, and anything that’s generating real discussion in the community. We’d rather review 3 games well than 10 games poorly.

For significant updates that change the experience (big content patches, performance overhauls, major balance changes), we’ll sometimes revisit a game and update the article. We’ll note the original review date and the update date so you know what’s what.

We follow the major circuits across League of Legends, CS2, Valorant, fighting games (Street Fighter, Tekken, and others at EVO-level events), and occasionally other titles when the competitive scene is interesting. We’re not locked to specific games and we expand coverage when a title’s competitive ecosystem warrants it.

When there’s a good story. Open qualifier runs, community tournaments that produce breakout players, and grassroots scenes building something worth watching all get our attention. We don’t limit coverage to the top tier.

Members of our team use the peripherals in actual competitive play over a period of at least two weeks before writing about them. We’re not doing 30-minute desk impressions. We test mice in FPS games, keyboards in both typing and gaming contexts, and headsets in team communication scenarios.

Sometimes. Review samples are disclosed in the article. Receiving a product for free doesn’t change how we evaluate it. We’ve panned expensive products from major brands and recommended budget options when they performed better.

We may include affiliate links in hardware recommendations. These are always disclosed. Affiliate relationships don’t influence which products we recommend or how we evaluate them.

We work with freelance writers who know gaming. If you have a story idea, review pitch, or feature concept, send it to [email protected] with a few writing samples and a brief pitch. We pay contributors.

Send review copy requests to [email protected]. Include the game title, platforms, release date, and embargo details. We can’t cover everything we receive, but we look at every pitch.

Display advertising, brand partnerships, and affiliate commissions on hardware recommendations. All of these are disclosed.

No. Advertising and editorial are separate operations. An advertiser can buy ad space but can’t buy a favorable review or a positive mention in an article. Never has happened, never will.
