About Gomesan

What We Do

Gomesan is a gaming and esports publication for people who take games seriously without taking themselves too seriously. We cover competitive gaming, new releases, streaming culture, hardware, and the community around it all.

We started because we wanted a gaming site that talks to its readers like adults. Not corporate-speak, not clickbait, not outrage farming. Just good writing about games, the people who play them, and the culture that’s grown around them.

Our team is based in Austin, TX. We’re players, viewers, and occasional tournament attendees who happen to also know how to write about the thing we love.

What We Cover

Esports: Tournament coverage, team profiles, player interviews, meta analysis, and the business side of competitive gaming. We follow the major circuits across multiple titles and dig into the stories behind the results.

Game Reviews and Previews: We review games we’ve actually played for a meaningful amount of time. No “first impressions after 45 minutes” reviews. When we preview something, we’re clear about what we’ve seen and what we’re speculating about.

Streaming and Content Creation: The culture, the platforms, the creators, and the way streaming is reshaping how people experience games. We’re interested in the creative side and the business side in equal measure.

Gaming Hardware: Monitors, mice, keyboards, headsets, and the rest of the gear that makes a difference for competitive and everyday play. We test what we recommend and we’re honest about where extra spending actually helps versus where it’s just marketing.

Game Culture: Features, opinion pieces, and the occasional deep dive into the communities, trends, and conversations happening across the gaming world.

How We Review Games

We don’t review games on launch day unless we’ve had enough pre-release access to do it right. We’d rather be a few days late with an informed review than first with a shallow one.

Our scores reflect the overall package: gameplay, technical performance, value, and how well the game delivers on what it’s trying to do. We don’t have a scoring committee or calibration meetings. Each reviewer owns their score and their take.

We disclose when a publisher provided a review copy. We don’t let that influence the review.
